TheraPrints Volunteer Description
TheraPrints is a student-led non-profit organization dedicated to designing and producing 3D-printed solutions that improve the quality of life for individuals in rehabilitation and senior care. We work with local rehab centers and senior care facilities to provide custom-designed parts that help ease daily activities, support therapy, and enhance independence for seniors.
Volunteer Role and Responsibilities:
As a volunteer at TheraPrints, you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist in the design and prototyping of 3D-printed parts tailored to specific client needs.
- Use 3D modeling software (such as AutoCAD) and operate 3D printers to create innovative solutions.
- Help organize and manage outreach efforts to connect with new facilities and gather feedback on products.
- Collaborate with a team to brainstorm, design, and implement effective solutions for clients.
- Document project progress, including testing phases and user feedback.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Interest in 3D design, engineering, or healthcare.
- Willingness to learn about 3D printing technology and design software.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
Commitment and Hours:
- Minimum commitment: Flexible scheduling, aim for 1-2 hrs a week
- Ability to work independently and remotely for certain tasks.
